My portraits are created using soft pastels and pastel pencils.  This type of medium will smear if touched, therefore, my portraits need to be framed under glass.  The frame will require a mat to hold the image off the glass.  You can take your portrait to a professional to be framed or purchase a matted frame online or at local craft stores.  The portrait is secured to the top the of mat by tape, preferably acid free.
